Terms of Use

The short version: be a good human, and we'll take care of the magic.
Who can use Post Elf
You need to be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian of the children you add to Post Elf. By signing up, you're saying you have the right to share information about your children with us.
Your account
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Give us real information. Fake profiles don't help anyone.
- If you think someone got into your account, let us know right away.
- You manage your kids' access codes, so make sure they're appropriate for your family.
What Post Elf does
Post Elf creates personalized letters from a magical elf to your children. Here's what's included:
- A parent portal where you manage your family, provide monthly updates, and review letters
- A kid portal where children read their letters using a simple access code
- AI-generated letters personalized to your child's world
- Audio letters where your elf reads the letter aloud (on paid plans)
- Printed letters mailed to your home (on paid plans)
- Elf on Demand: extra letters for special moments (paid per letter)
- Milestone letters for birthdays, first day of school, and more (paid per letter)
- Monthly quests and badges to keep kids engaged
About the AI-written letters
Our letters are written by AI (Claude by Anthropic), guided by what you tell us about your child. A few things to know:
- We work hard to make every letter age-appropriate, positive, and encouraging.
- No AI is perfect. Occasionally a letter might not be quite right. That's why you can review and approve every letter before your child sees it.
- We strongly recommend reading the first few letters carefully.
- If something seems off, let us know and we'll fix it.
- These letters are not therapy or medical advice. They're stories meant to encourage and inspire.
Plans and payments
- The free plan is free. Forever. No tricks.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Annual plans give you 2 months free.
- Free trials don't require a credit card. If you don't upgrade, you just stay on the free plan.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from the billing page.
- If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access until the end of your billing period.
- Prices can change, but we'll give you 30 days' notice.
Refunds
- Monthly subscriptions: cancel anytime, but no partial refunds.
- Elf on Demand and milestone letters: non-refundable once the letter is generated.
- Printed letters: non-refundable once sent to print.
- If something went genuinely wrong, email us. We're reasonable people.
Please don't
- Use Post Elf for anything illegal
- Make up fake children or provide false information
- Try to make the elf write inappropriate content
- Share your account with strangers
- Try to access another family's data
- Use bots or scrapers on our site
- Try to reverse-engineer how it works
If you do any of this, we may close your account.
Who owns what
- The Post Elf brand, design, and platform are ours.
- Your family's data is yours. We just use it to write letters, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- The letters we generate are for your family's personal use. Print them, frame them, read them at bedtime. Just don't sell them.
The fine print
Post Elf is provided "as is." We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't guarantee perfection. We're not responsible for AI content that doesn't meet your expectations (that's why we built the review system), late physical mail deliveries, or service interruptions.
If something goes wrong, our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months.
Closing your account
You can delete your account anytime from Account Settings. It's permanent and immediate. All your data, your kids' data, all letters, everything. Gone. We also reserve the right to close accounts that violate these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we change something important, we'll email you. Keep using Post Elf after the change and you're agreeing to the update.
Legal stuff
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States.
